The two founding members formed the
club in 1993, whilst enjoying a drink in a local hostelry, after discovering
their common interest in sailing. Over the intervening years that
club has grown to its present size, with approximately 50 members
and regular open committee meetings held twice a month on Wednesday
evenings at 20:00 in our Club room at 'The Shore Inn', Shore Road,
East Wittering. We are a like minded group of people, with members
from all walks of life and from as far a field as London who enjoy
sailing or motor-cruising in a relaxed way, with fun being the main
motivating factor. Our boating activities include one day events,
overnight trips, weekend rallies, challenges and special family oriented
days. All these events are normally linked to post event socializing.
Regular social happenings include midsummer BBQ, annual cricket match
on Stocker Bank and other shore based gatherings such as the End of
Season Bash, Skippers Supper, etc. The club is affiliated to the RYA
and our members receive all the associated benefits. For further details,
why not come along to one of our meetings, held on the first and third
Wednesdays of each month at 8.30 in the Club Room. Alternatively e-mail
us with your questions.
